PASSION FOR FASHION

From the time that I was a little girl, I had an eye for fashion. Perhaps, I was born with an instinct for color coordination? From the time that I was about five years old, I had a good sense of which colors looked best on me. Looking back, I recall that the special occasion was Easter. My mother purchased dresses with matching coats for my older sister and I.

However, Easter morning, my mother dressed me in the pastel yellow dress, instead of the pretty lavender dress. As soon as I tried on the new yellow dress, I looked in the mirror and unhappily said, "No! I want the purple dress!" My sister Doreen, with blonde curly locks, bouncing as she walked, said, "The purple dress is MINE!" I instantly marched right over to my confused mother and replied, "The yellow dress is NOT my color! I want to wear the purple dress!'

Unfortunately, the boring yellow dress was just my size and the lovely lavender dress was my older sisters size so that about settled it. Although, I was just a young girl, not even in school, I knew by sight what shades complemented my medium brown hair, fair skin and blue eyes. That Easter Day must have been ingrained in my mind forever because from that day on, I have NEVER worn yellow!

It does not surprise me that I grew up to have a passion for fashion, especially for color analysis, to help individuals choose the best shades to enhance their skin, hair and eye color. Whether you are a young student, a stay-at-home mom, a career-oriented female or gracefully reaching retirement, choosing the right shades that complement you will be the KEY to looking and feeling your very best.

Color analysis, also called skin tone color matching or color seasons, is the process of finding colors of clothing and makeup to match a person's complexion, eye color, and hair color. It is often used as an aid to wardrobe planning and style consulting.

Color analysis is the process of determining the colors that best suit an individual's natural coloring. There are several means of analyzing personal coloring. The most popular is "seasonal" color analysis, which places individual coloring into four general categories: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. "Winters" and "Summers" have cool coloring. Some clues that a person has cool coloring might include ash tones in the hair, gray-blue eyes and pinkish undertones to the skin. "Springs" and "Autumns" have warm coloring. Some signs of warm coloring are red or golden hair, golden brown eyes and golden undertones to the skin.

The theories of color analysis also teach that certain colors are capable of emphasizing or, conversely, de-emphasizing an individual's attractiveness to others. Unflattering colors may make a person look pale, for instance, or draw attention to such "flaws" as wrinkles, shadows underneath the eyes or uneven skin tone. Flattering colors are thought to have the opposite effect.

WEARING THE RIGHT COLORS WILL:

1) Make your face come alive!
2) Enrich your face, eyes and hair.
3) Will lift your face, bringing the viewer's eyes to the upper face and away from the body.
4) Visually reduce wrinkles, shadows, blemishes, freckles and facial hair.
5) Minimize double chins, facial disproportion and overweight appearance.

If you are looking to purchase a new lipstick, stunning hair color, cute shoes or a stylish dress, it is important to spend your time, energy and money by choosing the MOST flattering shades to look your very best.
